About Johnny Tait
Johnny was born in Lambeth, London. He is a genuine Cockney and as with all Cockneys, his London charm has kept him busy ever since entering the world of entertainment.He embarked on his career in 1977 when he joined Butlins Bognor Regis as a Red Coat and after learning the ropes, he joined Doniford Bay HP as Entertainments Manager. He then went on to lead the teams at Lydstep Beach HP, Whitecliff Bay HP, Camber Sands HP and Woolacombe Sands HP. In between these Holiday Parks he joined the Cruise ferry ‘Pride of Le Harve’, also as Entertainments Manager. His career to date has taken him to literally thousands of cabaret venues, both as a stand up Comedian and specialist ‘Cockney Comic’. He is very popular due to his art of story telling with a smile and never being blue.Johnny also appeared in a full-length feature film alongside Jack Wild and Mark Lester, called ‘SWALK’.Pantomime goers have also seen his comedic skills on two occasions when he performed in Pantomime in Welwyn Garden City as ‘Buttons’ and ‘The Villain’.

Amongst his many theatre appearances he has performed as the warm up for household names such as Freddie Starr and Joe Longthorne in theatres Nationwide.

Regularly performing in the holiday resorts of Europe he has to date been seen in: – Turkey, Spain, Majorca & Minorca, Greece and all of the Canary Islands.

Whilst talking about Europe he has also performed for Her Majesty’s Forces in various Countries including Cyprus & Germany, not to mention all over the British Isles including Ireland.

Amongst the many Newspaper reviews – ‘Peter Hepple’ from ‘The Stage and Television’ once said “ An experienced London born pro proved the laughter will come thick and fast “ and ‘Mark Ritchie’ of the same paper said “ Has enough tricks in his comical locker to always earn a nice living“

Johnny can adjust his act instantly to suit any audience in any situation, from Sports Clubs to Cabaret Venues, Variety Shows, Cockney Nights and After Dinner Speaking. He also keeps a bag Â packed which enables him to go anywhere at short notice both home and abroad.
